Hi, I’m Joyce.
A portrait photographer based in TOKYO, Japan.
I was born in Taiwan and moved to California with my family after finishing middle school. During college, I unexpectedly met my husband at school. After 7 years of long-distance love, I left my comfort zone and moved to Japan for him, and just like that, it’s already been more than a decade. Now a mother of 2 boys (ages 10 and 3), I’ve come to realize how fleeting and precious the everyday moments are. Parenthood has taught me to slow down and truly cherish the little things.
My love for photography began in high school, when my family gave me my first film camera. Since then, photography has become more than just a hobby, it's how I express emotion and preserve memory. That passion took on deeper meaning when my eldest son was diagnosed with leukemia. Those years were filled with fear and uncertainty, but thankfully, he pulled through. That experience changed me, it taught me to treasure the present, and it fueled my desire to document every part of my children’s growth.
In addition to photography, I have a deep love for cooking and baking. I often share my favorite recipes and kitchen moments on social media, it’s another way I express creativity and connect with others through the comfort of food.
After years as a full-time mom, I decided to pursue the one thing that has always brought me joy. I specialize in natural light capturing heartfelt and genuine stories, from the warmth of a family, to the quiet connection between couples, to the subtle beauty of everyday life.
I am Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and English, and passionate about connecting with people from all walks of life and making them feel seen and understood through my work.
I truly believe that photographs are time capsules, little pieces of our lives that we can hold on to forever. If you’d like to preserve your story, I’d be honored to help you capture it.
